MN Contractor Buddy
One search across every Minnesota trade license the state publishes: electricians, plumbers, residential contractors and roofers, boiler operators, and more, in plain English with the date we last checked.
This site is part of the Buddy Network, a collection of Minnesota consumer tools built by attorney Dan Swenson.
I am Dan Swenson, a Minnesota workers' compensation attorney and data nerd. I build these sites as a hobby to make public records, government rules, and license registries easy to find and use. The tools are free. The network pays for itself through disclosed referral links and a few optional paid guides.
More about why I build these
MN Contractor Buddy is an independent educational resource built by a Minnesota attorney. It is not a government agency or a law firm, and nothing on this site is legal advice about your situation.
License records come from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry's nightly public license export, republished with the date we last checked them. If our copy and DLI's own lookup ever disagree, DLI's lookup controls. A license record is public information, not a review, rating, or endorsement.
The state license record on every profile page renders straight from DLI's data. It is never edited, never hidden, and never for sale.
If you ask to be connected with a contractor, your request may be sent to licensed Minnesota contractors you approve. Participating contractors may pay to receive inquiries; that never changes what the license record shows you. Privacy policy.
